The Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement® is a movement based learning modality developed by Anat Baniel. She pioneered this work after years of experience working with children with special needs and studying with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. Anat Baniel has since helped potentiate learning to enhance abilities for people of all walks of life including athletes, musicians, people who have suffered stroke, learning and developmental disabilities. There are 9 Essentials of quality techniques used to tap into the brain's plasticity for people to learn better.

According to Anat Baniel, the above listed discoveries she made are the 9 Essentials for positive brain change. Neural pathways are created or re-established through gentle movement sequences and the use of the 9 Essentials. What people have reported to experience are better clarity of thinking, more energy and vitality, and improved cognitive processes. People have also reported becoming pain free, increases in their motility, flexibility and strength all because of the their own brain's plasticity and their own learning. In general people become more attuned to themselves on a very profound level and are positively impacted. They learn to move better and in turn begin to feel better in response to receiving this work.
Hello and welcome to my website! I am a certified Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovment® (ABMN®) Practitioner and received my mastery level ABMN® certification for children with special needs in July 2023. I am a NeuroMovement Instructor at the West Vancouver Seniors' Activity Centre and I see clients for private lessons in Vancouver and West Vancouver.
I have a background in the field of Education and in 2018 I completed a Diploma in Special Education just before embarking on my Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement® training journey in 2019.
I have family experience with special needs and found this work through my son's Occupational Therapist who suggested I read Anat Baniel's book Kids Beyond LImits. After reading the book I had my son try a few ABMN® lessons and I was astounded by the results after just 4 days of receiving this wonderful work. I noticed positive changes in his cognitive processes, motility, and remarkable changes in his self determination. I have worked with people from 13 months of age to 90 years old with a variety of conditions who have experienced different levels of improvements.
I am grateful and value being an active member of the Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement® community. I welcome the opportunity for professional development as a practitioner and I am looking forward to sharing more of this work from the up and coming Movement, Thinking and Cognition ABMN® seminar in which I am participating in October 2023.
Functional Synthesis Lessons $90
A Functional Synthesis Lesson is a private lesson and is typically done using a table similar to a physiotherapy table. During a Functional Synthesis lesson, a practitioner guides their student through a series of slow and gentle movements and involves the integration of sensory perceptions, and cognitive processes. Students can experience pain relief, increased clarity of thinking, improved motility and above all, embodiment, which means connectedness to the self such that it allows for positive brain change.
Transformational Movement Lessons are group lessons and are a great way to get your body moving and improve your overall health. The movement sequences taught in these lessons help to increase awareness, making it easier to move and stay active. In addition, the movements help to release tension from muscles and connective tissues, providing relief from pain and discomfort. As an added bonus, the movements used in Transformational Movement Lessons can also help to enhance memory and focus. As a result, transformational movement lessons are an excellent way to greater freedom of movement, pain relief, and improved cognitive function.
